Turn off your talking mind and turn on your eyes, ears, nose, skin and taste. Open yourself up to the environment and your own heartbeat. Entering the labyrinth, you see the wind in the movement of the silken banners, you hear the subtle humming of stretched wire or gentle ring of tuneful bell. Your skin becomes alive, feeling the breath of the wind, the kiss of the sun, the playa beneath your feet. Becoming aware of the smell of the air and the taste of Mother Playa's dusty particles dancing on the currents, you slowly weave your way through the fire colored banners, touching silk, touching wind, touching breath.
Once you find yourself in the center, banners of red waves create a sacred space and you balance on a dome of Bucky Fuller's dreams of tensegrity, as silken draped worshippers move slowly and magically to the silent urgings of Mother Wind. You find yourself transported to a place of sensory awareness and appreciation of the source of the kite dance, the power of lift and the whispering forces of the wind.

We call ourselves "Wind Worshippers." As kite fliers, we become intimately aquainted with the wind and all her whims and patterns. We want to create an environment which invites others to experience the wind with all five senses.
The banners - 125 of them - are 9 feet by 20 inches, mounted on 12 foot tall poles planted in the pattern of our circle labyrinth. On many of the banners, there will be small bells, and interspersed will reside "hummers" which are a kind of bow and fiber traditionally mounted on Japanese kites to make notes as the wind blows over them. These banners are in colors of fire- reds, oranges- yellows, white and black- all united with a black pattern along the edge.
