2007 was "Art Year" for DOTA. We had dean jordan's red Tori gate, made out of recycled concrete forms in honor of this year's GreenMan theme. Ginny brought her magnificent gate sculpture, "Passages" which was placed on the playa across from camp. Our dome was adorned with flowing white wings. A new "Fugo" kite cover for Flailing Zone and dozens of colorful wind garden banners, all sewn of scrap kite fabric, emphasized the years motto Recycle! Reuse! We also debuted a few new kites, including Gee's Jellyfish and our new official DOTA gift kites.
A significant presentation to Black Rock City this year was an amazing projection project, Earthlight. Developed by DOTA member Carter Emmert, Earthlight utilizes a direct satellite feed from NASA to take viewers on a nightly flight around our home planet. DOTA is proud to have hosted Carter's revolutionary vision!
In other areas, DOTA coordinated with Entheon Village, OBOP, CampIam and Monkey camp to share a bio-diesel powered generator. We look forward to ever more exciting collaboration in the future.
